Brandon Portwine - Sluggers General Manager

Current Husson University Assistant Baseball Coach since 2012. Assistant  Baseball Coach 2014 American Legion State Champions Bangor Comrades.  Assistant Baseball Coach 2014 American Junior Legion State Champions Bangor Cadets. Head Baseball Coach American Legion Northern Lumber 2011-2013 & Assistant with Lumber 2005-2011. Head Coach Stearns High School 2007-2012 & Stearns Assistant 2005-2006. Player of University of Maine Baseball Team 1993-95. 

Tim Bush - Sluggers Director of Baseball

Tim is a 2007 graduate of Brewer High School.  While at Brewer Tim lettered in Football and Baseball and was a captain of the Baseball team his senior year.  After graduation Tim served 6 years in the United States Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, Tim was stationed in Texas, South Korea, Italy and Washington DC.  Tim also did one tour in Afghanistan.  Tim moved back to Bangor in 2013 where he joined Bangor High School as an Assistant Coach where he was a part of the 2014 Varsity State Championship team.  In the summer of 2014 he was named the Head Coach of the Bangor Cadets Junior Legion team where he led the Cadets to a State Championship in the first year of the program.  Tim was also an Assistant Coach in the summer of 2014 with the Bangor Comrades Senior Legion State Championship team.  In the Fall on 2014 Tim joined the University of Maine Baseball team as the teams Student Assisntant Coach where he worked directly with Coach Steve Trimper.  In the spring of 2015 Tim was hired as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Orono High School as well as the Head Coach of the Motor City American Legion Baseball Team.

Dean Husted

Dean was drafted at the age of 19 and played Rookie Ball with the Montreal Expos.  After his playing days were over Dean was a coach at Milford Academy for 7 years.  After 2 years on the job they were ranked the # 1 post grad program in the country.  Dean has coached 19 player's who have played professionally and had 6 players drafted out of their program. Dean spent 2 years as an Assistant Coach at the University of Bridgeport and 1 year at Albertis Magnus before leaving to become a lead instructor at Norko's Batting Cage and Training Center in Connecticut.  Dean has spent 25 year's coaching Travel Baseball, coaching private lessons, running camp's, and various clinic's.  Some of the elite camps Dean has worked are a 6 year run at the Princeton University Summer Camp, 3 year's at the Clemson University Summer Camp, and 7 year's at the University of New Haven Summer Camp.  Dean also spent 6 years as a college recruiter.   Sluggers is very excited to add Dean to our Elite Coaching Staff and think he will be a great assett for the players within our facility as well as our coaching staff!

Dylan Morris 

Dylan was a 2011 graduate of Bangor High School. While at Bangor, he was a 3 year Varsity Football and Baseball player, a captain of both his senior year. Dylan was a catcher for Bangor High School, the Bangor Comrades and the 2011 Senior League World Series Runner-Up. Dylan is currently in his final semester as a Criminology Major at the University of Southern Maine. While at USM he was a 4 year Catcher/ Relief Pitcher/ Utility Player, 3 time LEC Conference Champion, 2 time New England Regional Champion, made 2 College World Series Appearances, 2013 National Runner-Up, 2014 National Semi-Finalist and a Bill Wise Scholar Athlete Award recipient his Senior season. 

Brett Chappell

Brett played baseball at Rock Falls high school in Rock Falls, IL.  In High School Brett had a .470 career average as well as the school record with runs in a season. Brett was 1st team All state, 3X All- Area, 2 Time Player of the Year, HM All-American, and HM All Central/Region as a high school player.  In college Brett played baseball at Northern Illinois University his freshman year. He then transferred to Parkland College and played baseball for his Sophomore year befor transfering to the University of Maine to play baseball for his junior and senior year.  In college Brett had a career .307 AVG, 10 home runs, and a .407 Slugging Percentage.  Sluggers is very excited to have Bretty as part of our staff as he brings forth a wealth of knowledge that will greatly assist the players in our facility.
