SLUGGERS BASEBALL SUMMER LEAGUE 2026

TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS 5PM-7PM

Sluggers Baseball Summer League is designed to get players between the Ages of 8-11 more game experience. Each team will have 2 games a week starting mid July and ending mid August. Games will be played on weekday nights starting at 5pm. Some makeup games might be played on weekends, if we have a large amount of rainouts.

The philosophy for this leagues is to develop players by getting them more game time. By having all players register through Sluggers we will try to make all teams equal skill levels. There will not be any teams made up of all All-Stars and teams without any All-Stars. Our goal is to make teams as equal as possible by spreading out all the players’ skill levels and experience.

During the games coaches will briefly stop the game to explain what we should have done on a certain play if there was a play that was not done correctly. Again, our overwhelming goal is for players to learn the game while playing the game. There will be no playoffs! We will keep score, however, emphasis will be on player development rather than winning.  ALL players will play multiple positions throughout the game and season, no one will just play outfield unless it’s a safety issue or they just want to play in the outfield.  Players desiring to be a pitcher or catcher should have some experience to maintain the safety of all players.

LITTLE SLUGGERS COACH PITCH LEAGUE – AGES 5-8

MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS 5PM-6PM

LITTLE SLUGGERS OBJECTIVES & DETAILS

• First 10-15 minutes of the hour is warm-ups & drills.
• Next 45-50 minutes is a Coach Pitch Game of 7 on 7. Coach Pitcher & Coach Catcher. Players @1B, 2B, SS, 3B & 1 OF

• Teach Players Basic Throwing, Fielding & Hitting Techniques.
• Teach Players to Understand the Positions and Teach Them Not to Chase the Ball Hit into Someone Elses Position.
• Teach Players to Understand the Difference Between a Force Out vs. a Tag Out. 
• Teach that Players Can Get Out On a Batted Ball. Not Everyone is Safe Everytime they Hit the Ball.
• Players get Multiple Attempts at Hitting off the Coach Pitcher. After 8-9 attempts we Put Out a Tee. At Their Next At Bat they Get To Try To Hit Off the Pitcher Again.
• Usually Half or More of the Group Has Participated in Little Sluggers Previously. And about Half or Less is Brand New to Little Sluggers.

• INDOOR GAMES 7 ON 7 (FULL INFIELD, PITCHER & CATCHER WITH 1 OUTFIELDER) 
• PLAYERS PITCH AT AGE 7-9 UNTIL THEY WALK 3 BATTERS, THEN COACH STEPS IN TO PITCH TO MAINTAIN GAME FLOW AND GIVE PLAYERS PITCHES TO HIT.
• PLAYERS PITCH AT AGE 10-12 LEVEL
• PITCH COUNT 50 MAX PER PITCHER PER DAY
• 5 RUNS PER INNING MAX
